Gearbox has issued a new update for Borderlands 4, reversing an accidental nerf to the game's boss-farming mechanics. The update, released recently, intended to address bugs and balance issues but inadvertently disabled a popular vendor trick.
Patch Changes and Reversions
The update led to unintended gameplay disruptions, notably affecting skill cooldowns during Moxxi's Big Encore respawns. The reset issue stemmed from a camera-movement bug, according to Associate Creative Director Grant Kao. Gearbox confirmed the cooldown resetting will be reinstated shortly.
- Vendor trick cooldowns disabled by mistake
- Skill cooldowns disrupted in Moxxi's Big Encore
- Patch correction underway
Balance Adjustments
The patch also implemented several balance changes across various skills. Key passives like Vex's Bloodletter and Amon's Seeing Red were nerfed to prevent self-triggering bleed loops. Additionally, Forgeknight's stacking duration was reduced, and Gravitar's Neutro Capture now boosts only gunshots. These changes aim to maintain competitive balance in gameplay.
Additional Improvements
Gearbox also introduced other updates, including reduced specialization respect cost from 5,000 to 1,500 Eridium, improved logic for the Lost Loot machine, and buffs for underperforming passives and weapons. These changes enhance player experience, especially during the concurrent Horrors of Kairos Halloween event.
