How to Enable Secure Boot for Battlefield 6 Beta on PC

22 Aug 2025

EA DICE has launched the much-awaited open beta for Battlefield 6 across PCs, ahead of its official release scheduled for October 10, 2025. As players delve into this immersive multiplayer shooter, a crucial prerequisite has emerged: enabling Secure Boot. This system configuration is essential for launching the Battlefield 6 beta, which is available for testing across two weekends in August 2025.

How to enable secure boot for battlefield 6 beta on pc

Secure Boot: Ensuring a Safe Gaming Environment

Secure Boot is a security feature integrated into Windows 10 and Windows 11, designed to ensure that only trusted software loads during system startup. Its importance is underscored by the fact that EA-supported games now leverage the Javelin Anticheat system, which requires Secure Boot to function properly. Javelin Anticheat aims to safeguard the integrity of the gaming environment by detecting and addressing attempts to cheat.

Checking and Enabling Secure Boot in BIOS

Before joining the battlefield, players may encounter a prompt indicating that Secure Boot needs activation. To check its status, simply press Windows+R, type msinfo32, and press Enter. In the System Information window under System Summary, ensure that the BIOS Mode is set to UEFI and the Secure Boot State is listed as On. Should the Secure Boot State register as Off, or if the BIOS Mode is unsupported, it may be necessary to consult the motherboard documentation or verify the disk partitioning method (MBR or GPT).

  • Enter the BIOS: Different systems require specific keys for BIOS access, typically F2, F10, F12, or Delete. Alternatively, Windows 11 users can navigate through Start > Power, and by holding Shift and selecting Restart, they can access the Windows Recovery Environment, then proceed to Troubleshoot > Advanced Options > UEFI Firmware Settings > Restart.
  • Locate Secure Boot Setting: Within the BIOS interface, navigate to areas labeled Security or Boot. Here, you may find the toggle for Secure Boot, which should be enabled.
  • Save and Exit: After enabling Secure Boot, ensure to save the changes and exit the BIOS, prompting the system to reboot and apply the new settings.

With Secure Boot activated, players can relaunch the Battlefield 6 beta without further hindrance, ensuring an enhanced and secure gaming experience. These steps are fundamental to access the game over the concluding weekend of its beta phase, from August 14 to August 16, 2025.
