Blender Halts iPadOS Development, Focuses on Android

05 Mar 2026

Blender has put its iPadOS development on hold indefinitely, shifting its focus to Android tablets instead. This decision was announced by developer Dalai Felinto on the project's official GitHub page, leaving the future of Blender on iPad uncertain.

Shift to Android Tablets

Originally announced in July 2025, Blender aimed to bring its full-featured 3D software to touch-enabled tablets, including the iPad, with stylus support. However, the development team has now decided to concentrate their efforts on Android devices. The reasons for this shift have not been disclosed.

Impact on iPad Users

Blender had previously demonstrated its software running on an Apple iPad Pro at SIGGRAPH 2025, showcasing its potential on iPadOS. Despite this, the indefinite delay leaves iPad users without a native version of Blender, affecting those who anticipated using the software on Apple's tablet platform.
