In Black Ops 7 Zombies, Treyarch has introduced Cursed mode, a challenging new feature expected after launch. Cursed mode offers players an expert-level, old-school experience featuring classic points, no minimap, and a pistol start.
Launch Adjustments and Feedback
During a post-beta Q&A, Treyarch's design team, led by Kevin Drew, revealed key changes informed by player feedback. The development team plans to nerf the saw trap, and some veteran enemies from Black Ops 6 will be absent. Players can expect improved damage multipliers for legendary and Pack-a-Punch weapons, alongside SMGs receiving a close-range damage boost.
A special Zombies HUD is set to debut, and notable augments from Black Ops 6 will be available at launch to aid economic gameplay.
Cursed Mode and Future Content
Cursed mode introduces a quest for relics that grant permanent modifiers. Its tier-one reward includes golden armor as a purchasable wall buy. The mode will be unlocked globally after the first player completes the main quest in Ashes of the Damned.
Though a super easter egg isn't available at launch, Treyarch is considering community-driven content for the latter part of the year. This fuels anticipation for future gameplay enhancements.
Market Launch Details
Call of Duty Black Ops 7 will officially launch on 2025-11-14. Previously achieved beta rounds reached as high as 617, indicating intense player engagement.
