Call of Duty Black Ops 7 has released a new update targeting Endgame mode's disconnect protection problem. Treyarch introduces a mechanism allowing players to retain their Combat Rating if they experience connection issues.
Disconnect Protection in Endgame
The update centers on safeguarding players' progress in Endgame, an extraction-based finale to the campaign. Previously, a connection disruption reset players' Combat Rating to zero. Now, a snapshot of the Combat Rating is taken at the match's start, and this rating is preserved across disconnects.
- Game: Call of Duty Black Ops 7
- Update Date: 2025-11-26
- Mode Improved: Endgame
- Feature: Disconnect protection introduced
- Developer: Treyarch
Players earn progress in Endgame by successfully extracting, leading to an increase in Combat Rating. Failing to extract results in losing all progress except when a disconnect occurs. In such cases, the player's rating from the match's start is retained.
Future Developments
Treyarch hinted at further advancements in disconnect protection for upcoming updates. Additionally, the Endgame mode is now available to all players, including those who haven't completed the campaign. Future updates will bring new in-game events, such as the return of a giant robot from the Black Ops 2's Origins Zombies map, adding a historic twist to the ongoing battles.
