Mode Details and Features
The game offers four modes: Standard, Directed, Survival, and Cursed. Each provides unique gameplay experiences from battling waves in Survival to easter egg hunting in Standard.
- Standard: This mode is round-based and located in the Ashes of the Damned map. It features the Dark Aether story, main campaigns, and side quests, with availability starting at launch.
- Directed: Introduced in Black Ops 6, this mode provides step-by-step instructions for the main quest, making it suitable for those focused on exploration. This mode will release with a Season 1 update.
- Survival: Players defend against continuous enemy waves in confined spaces on the Vandorn Family Farm map. It is available at launch.
- Cursed: Aimed at veteran players, this mode challenges players with minimal resources in exploration settings. Unlockable post-launch, it requires completing the main Ashes of the Damned quest.
Release Timing and Future Additions
The initial launch includes Standard and Survival modes. Directed and Cursed modes will be rolled out in a Season 1 update later in 2023. The Cursed mode can be accessed upon completing certain quests, with additional maps and relics expected soon.
