Capcom reported selling 19.104 million PC games in the first nine months of FY25, marking a significant shift towards digital sales. This accounted for 55% of the company's total game purchases and 58% of digital sales during the period.
Digital Sales Strategy
Capcom has embraced a digital-first model, with digital sales contributing to approximately 94% of its earnings. The company has effectively used strategic discounts to boost sales volumes, resulting in a total of 34.644 million units sold, with PC games making up more than half.
Future Development Plans
In FY24, PC sales also dominated, comprising 54% of total sales with 28.211 million units. Capcom's management noted that PC sales were about half of product purchases in Q3 and anticipates this trend to grow. The company plans to enhance its PC development framework, leveraging technical expertise from successful titles like Monster Hunter Wilds.
Capcom remains committed to its annual target of 54 million game sales, indicating a strong focus on expanding its digital and PC gaming presence.
