Castlevania: The Lecarde Chronicles is an exceptional unofficial addition to the beloved Castlevania series. Created by a dedicated fan, this game rivals, and perhaps even surpasses, many of Konami's official releases. Staying true to the classic 'metroidvania' style, players can explore freely through two-dimensional levels, battling unique enemies with a whip and special items. A standout feature is the neutral town, where players can rest, interact with inhabitants, and embark on side quests. Visually, the game impresses with original, high-resolution graphics, avoiding the reuse of sprites from other titles. Castlevania: The Lecarde Chronicles is a must-play for any fan, proving itself as one of the finest unofficial entries in the Castlevania saga.
This game is alright! It has some really fun moments and great aesthetics. However, the pacing feels off sometimes, and it drags a bit in some levels. Not bad overall, but it could be better.
