Castlevania: The Lecarde Chronicles is an exceptional unofficial addition to the beloved Castlevania series. Created by a dedicated fan, this game rivals, and perhaps even surpasses, many of Konami's official releases. Staying true to the classic 'metroidvania' style, players can explore freely through two-dimensional levels, battling unique enemies with a whip and special items. A standout feature is the neutral town, where players can rest, interact with inhabitants, and embark on side quests. Visually, the game impresses with original, high-resolution graphics, avoiding the reuse of sprites from other titles. Castlevania: The Lecarde Chronicles is a must-play for any fan, proving itself as one of the finest unofficial entries in the Castlevania saga.

I want to love this game, but I have some reservations. Combat can be exhilarating, but also feels weird at times. The visuals are nice, though, and I appreciate the effort in creating a unique experience.
