Windows 11 to Introduce Haptic Feedback for Trackpads

10 Nov 2025

Microsoft is set to enhance its Windows 11 operating system by introducing a new haptic feedback option, specifically designed for devices with haptic trackpads.

Details of the New Feature

This new functionality will allow users to feel subtle vibrations during actions such as snapping windows or aligning objects on their screen. According to a recent discovery, the feature includes an adjustable slider to change the haptic intensity. Zac Bowden, a trusted source, noted that while this option will be available, it may not be entirely disableable in all contexts.

Current Status and Compatibility

The haptic feedback setting is presently hidden within the latest Dev/Beta build and is not yet operational. No identification method is available to enable it at this stage. The feature is specifically designed to work with haptic-enabled trackpads and could activate when users perform tasks like dragging files between windows.

Potential User Impact

Once implemented, this new haptic feedback feature could significantly improve the tactile interaction experience for users of Windows 11. Although the setting is still in development, its eventual inclusion promises to enrich user engagement through more responsive feedback during routine tasks.
