Google has unveiled a new set of features for Android as part of its March 2026 update, enhancing user experience across various applications. The update coincides with the latest Google Pixel Feature Drop and introduces significant improvements to Android Auto, Google Messages, and the Google Play Store.
New Games for Android Auto
In a bid to make car journeys more enjoyable for young passengers, Google has added a selection of children's games to Android Auto. These games, which include Disney Coloring World and Marvel HQ: Kids Super Hero Fun, are designed for children aged 3 to 12 and are available on the car's infotainment display when parked. Google assures that all titles are "Teacher Approved."
Enhanced Messaging and Location Features
Android users can now share their live location directly within Google Messages. This feature integrates with Google's Find Hub map interface, allowing users to provide real-time location updates during conversations. The live location sharing can continue indefinitely until manually stopped, offering convenience and security for users.
Additionally, Google has improved item tracker integration for air travel. Users can now generate a secure location-sharing link for lost luggage equipped with a compatible tracker, streamlining communication with airlines.
App Discovery and Personalization
The Google Play Store is enhancing app discovery through short-form videos. Users can browse through a feed of videos showcasing apps in categories like Photography and Wellness, providing a better understanding of app functionality before downloading.
Moreover, Android users can now create personalized Calling Cards. These cards automatically appear on devices of contacts who have saved them, adding a personal touch to communications.
These features are part of Google's ongoing strategy to introduce ecosystem-wide improvements through periodic updates, independent of major Android version releases.
