The Dolphin emulator has expanded its capabilities by adding support for Triforce games, an arcade platform developed by Nintendo, Sega, and Namco. This enhancement is available in the latest development version 2512-395.
Triforce Emulation Details
Triforce, based on GameCube hardware, was challenging to emulate due to its arcade-specific design. The Dolphin team, with significant contributions from developer Credin, has successfully integrated Triforce support. This update allows almost all Triforce games to run smoothly on Dolphin, with the exception of Key of Avalon, which requires touchscreen support.
Playable Triforce Titles
Notable Triforce games now playable on Dolphin include Mario Kart Arcade GP, Mario Kart Arcade GP 2, F-Zero AX, Virtua Striker 3, and Gekitou Pro Yakyu. These titles bring the arcade experience to users, though additional steps are needed for setup, such as using a Tridump tool and obtaining Segaboot for accessing service menus.
Platform Compatibility
Currently, Triforce games are supported on the PC and Android versions of Dolphin. The team has hinted at potential expansion to other platforms in the future, further broadening access to these classic arcade games.
