Windows users can safeguard their systems with a Restore Point, allowing recovery from issues like failed updates or corruption. This feature helps restore the operating system to a prior, functional state without affecting personal files.
Creating a Restore Point
To set up a Restore Point, type "restore" in the Windows search bar and select "Create a restore point." In the System Protection window, click "Create," enter a description, and confirm by clicking "Create" again.
Using a Restore Point
To revert to a system restore point: right-click the Windows icon and go to Settings. Select System, then Recovery. Under Advanced startup, choose "Restart now." After rebooting, select Troubleshoot > Advanced options > System Restore. Follow the prompts to choose and apply a restore point.
Note: System Restore impacts only the Windows system files and settings. It does not serve as a data backup and leaves personal files untouched during restoration.
