Fallout 76 has launched a major balance update on its public test server, aiming to improve armor weight and damage settings for players.
Armor and Weapon Changes
The update reduces the weight of both armor and power armor, facilitating easier transportation. T-51 power armor now offers improved Cryo resistance, while Hazmat Suits boast increased radiation protection. Over 50 armor mods saw adjustments, enhancing their effectiveness. The Portable Power and Sturdy Frame perks now enhance movement speed by 10% per rank and reduce stagger taken per rank. The Gauss Minigun's base damage decreased from 59 to 42, though it takes longer to overheat and cools down faster.
Gameplay Enhancements
This update removes 'recommended level' text from public event descriptions but retains difficulty labels. Other tweaks include UI and Pip-Boy fixes. These enhancements make onboarding easier, quests more engaging, and non-player characters (NPCs) more interactive, strengthening community bonds within the game.
Fallout 76 continues to expand its player experience, offering improvements that align well with the fanbase and recent media like the Fallout TV show.
