Google Messages is introducing two significant updates aimed at enhancing user experience. The latest beta version now allows users to copy selected portions of a message, rather than the entire text, providing more flexibility in text management.
Selective Text Copy Feature
The new inline text selection feature enables users to tap and hold a message, then tap again to highlight and copy only the desired section. This update, identified by Android Authority, maintains the existing option to copy full messages, offering users more control over their text interactions.
Wear OS Notification Update
In addition to the text selection feature, Google Messages is enhancing its notifications on Wear OS devices. A new 'Mark as read' button is now available directly in the notification when a message first arrives. This feature, however, does not appear when revisiting the notification. The update is being distributed through the Play Store, aiming to streamline message management on wearable devices.
