Grand Theft Auto V May Join PC Game Pass, Expanding Its Reach

29 Jul 2024

In a recent update from the well-known leaker tez2, it has been suggested that Grand Theft Auto V may soon make its debut on PC Game Pass. While the game has previously graced Xbox Game Pass for console users, this would mark its first appearance on the PC platform.

Market Dynamics and Player Engagement

The inclusion of such a prominent title is undoubtedly exciting; however, the necessity for many gamers to subscribe may be questionable. Grand Theft Auto V originally launched on PC on April 14, 2015, nearly two years after its initial release on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Since then, it has been available on various platforms, including Steam, the Epic Games Store—where it was offered for free for a limited time in 2020—and Rockstar’s own launcher. Currently, the game is priced at a modest sum.

Despite its impending availability on PC Game Pass, the PC version of Grand Theft Auto V lags behind its next-gen console counterpart, which has benefitted from enhancements like ray-traced ambient occlusion and shadows.

Grand Theft Auto V holds the distinction of being the second best-selling premium game of all time, recently surpassing the remarkable milestone of 200 million units sold. Only Minecraft, boasting an estimated 300 million units sold, stands ahead, benefiting from a broader target audience compared to Rockstar’s M-rated offering.

Unlike its predecessor, Grand Theft Auto V did not receive any single-player downloadable content (DLC). Although there was at least one DLC in development featuring the character Trevor, it was ultimately shelved in favor of enhancing GTA Online, which has proven to be immensely popular among players.

GTA Online continues to thrive, with regular updates from Rockstar. The Bottom Dollar Bounties update was released last month, with more content anticipated throughout the summer. Looking ahead, Grand Theft Auto VI is expected to launch in Fall 2025 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S|X, with a PC version likely to follow approximately a year to a year and a half later.

How to change characters in grand theft auto v?

To change, or customize, the appearance of characters in Grand Theft Auto V, follow these steps: You cannot change the main characters' core appearances (like their faces) as you can in some other games, but you can modify their clothing, hairstyles, tattoos, and accessories. Visit clothing stores, barber shops, and tattoo parlors scattered across the map in Los Santos and Blaine County. Each main character (Michael, Franklin, and Trevor) can have different styles, so feel free to customize them individually to suit your preferences.

How to switch characters in grand theft auto v?

To switch characters in Grand Theft Auto V, follow these steps: Hold down the character switch button (default is the 'Alt' key on PC, the 'Down' button on the D-Pad for consoles). This brings up the character wheel. Use the right analog stick (or mouse on PC) to select the character you want to switch to: Michael, Franklin, or Trevor. Release the character switch button to confirm your selection. The transition may take a few moments as the game loads the new character's current activities and location.
