HitFilm Express is a superb software. It has a friendly interface that makes editing enjoyable. I particularly liked the audio mixer—it gave my project some depth. However, it crashes occasionally when working with larger files.

Used HitFilm Express for a few videos—great tools for editing! The VFX and compositing functions are amazing for free software. But I did encounter some bugs while rendering, so had to save frequently, which was a bit annoying.
