Ubisoft and FX have announced a new live-action TV series based on the Far Cry franchise, co-created by Noah Hawley and Rob McElhenney. This comes after a prior announcement was briefly made and then retracted.
Series Development and Creators
Rob McElhenney, known as Rob Mac, will executive produce and star in the series, while Noah Hawley serves as co-creator. The Far Cry series will reflect the anthology style of the games, offering a new location and cast each season.
Potential Settings and Themes
The series may explore a variety of global settings, mirroring the game's international locales. Speculated settings include Micronesia, Central Africa, Southeast Asia, Nepal, Montana, and Cuba, with discussions about a Stone Age theme inspired by Far Cry Primal.
Previous screen adaptations of the Far Cry brand include Uwe Boll's 2008 film and Netflix's animated series, Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix.
