L'Abbaye des Morts is a captivating 2D platformer by Locomalito, drawing inspiration from classics like Manic Miner and Jet Set Willy, and showcasing the iconic Spectrum ZX visual style. In this game, you embody Jean Raymond, a monk escaping crusaders who finds refuge in an ancient church, only to face far greater perils within. The gameplay is straightforward, utilizing simple directional and jump controls, yet it presents a formidable challenge reminiscent of its retro predecessors. Navigate through a perilous abbey filled with bats, skeletons, demons, ghosts, giant spiders, and dragons, where even a single drop of water can be fatal. Collect hearts for extra lives and essential items to progress. L'Abbaye des Morts stands out as a high-quality, traditional platformer, offering a nostalgic yet thrilling experience for fans of classic games.

L'Abbaye des Morts is a mixed bag for me. The story is compelling, but at times the gameplay feels repetitive. I loved some puzzles but found others frustrating. Definitely a cool concept, just could use some tweaks!
