Indie studio Berserk Boy Games has unveiled its latest project, Berserk B.I.T.S. This upcoming browser-based game, set to launch in early access on Steam later this year, offers a unique twist on the Mega Man Battle Network series by transforming it into an idle RPG.
Berserk Boy Games gained recognition earlier this year with the release of Berserk Boy, a game that paid homage to classic Mega Man titles and received critical acclaim. The studio’s new venture will continue to explore the same nostalgic pixel art style but in a different gaming genre.
A New Idle RPG Experience
Berserk B.I.T.S. introduces players to an idle gaming experience that seamlessly integrates into their PC desktop. As the on-screen hero battles viruses and collects chips, players can use these resources to purchase furniture and decorate their home base. Additionally, the game features an idle RPG element where players can recruit helper programs to aid them in their journey.
Drawing inspiration from Mega Man Battle Network, Berserk B.I.T.S. showcases battles on grid-based layouts, with enemies and bosses approaching from the right side of the window. Players can strategically maneuver their hero up and down grid rows to fend off adversaries in an auto-battler format. Crafting and equipping battle chips allow players to unleash powerful attacks and influence the outcome of battles.
