Marvel Rivals is introducing a new social feature on 2025-11-14: a non-combat map set in Times Square, allowing players to gather and interact.
New Social Space
The upcoming Times Square map in Marvel Rivals marks a move towards enhancing social interaction. As described by creative director Guangyun Chen, the map supports up to 100 players and is designed for non-combat activities such as dancing, watching videos, and reading books.
This feature offers a break from PvP battles, allowing players to socialize and share in-game experiences, much like the 'Sanctum Sanctorum' in Doom Match.
Character Additions and Modes
Strengthening the game's roster, the update introduces Gambit and Rogue on 2025-11-14. Gambit is characterized as a strategist/support role, using Chronovium-enhanced cards to aid allies or debuff foes.
Rogue and Gambit’s arrival has attracted attention, particularly Gambit's support abilities, addressing the game's previous focus on Duelist characters. NetEase emphasizes Gambit's versatility in combat strategy.
Upcoming Game Mode
The Annihilation mode, another key addition, goes live on 2025-11-27. This Conquest-style team deathmatch involves teams of 18 battling in the new Grand Garden map. This caters to players seeking more extensive team-based challenges.
Marvel Rivals’ enhancements, spanning social engagement and strategic gameplay, continue to diversify player experiences.
