Fractured Worlds, developed by Laser Guided Games, is setting a new standard in the ARPG genre by intertwining elements of Diablo’s combat mechanics with the strategic invasions and alliances reminiscent of Souls games. In a universe where reality itself is fragmented, players traverse between fractured realms, with opportunity for unexpected encounters when worlds overlap.
Dynamic Player Interaction
The introduction of player interactions is central to the experience in Fractured Worlds. Players have the option to cooperate in alliances, trade for mutual benefit, or engage in hostile invasions to disrupt enemies. These interactions add layers of depth and strategy, as decisions must be made whether to collaborate over shared loot or employ more deceitful tactics, such as enticing others into ambushes to capture rewards for oneself.
The innovative “map shards” system allows players to share parts of their world with others. These fragments create cooperative or competitive instances with varying monster modifiers, akin to Diablo's nightmare dungeons or Path of Exile's endgame maps. Player communication is facilitated through pre-structured messages, ensuring a balance of clear strategy and possible deception.
Innovative Gameplay Mechanics
Departing from traditional class systems, Fractured Worlds offers a flexible progression model that allows players to respec freely and explore diverse character builds. Players can wield a variety of weapons, each with distinct movesets, such as slow, powerful maces or the gracefully wielded aether wands, adjusting their strategies and styles in response to newly acquired legendary items. The environments they navigate range from enchanting forests and dark medieval dungeons to complex, futuristic landscapes.
Boss battles promise high-tension encounters, facing a spectrum of formidable adversaries: from treasure-hoarding golems and noble dragons to spectral knights and the bewildering Rorsch.

A public playtest is currently underway, providing a hands-on glimpse into Fractured Worlds' distinctive offerings. Interested players can join for free through Steam or the Epic Games Store.
