Amazon Games has ceased further content updates for its MMO title, New World, following significant layoffs and strategic adjustments in its gaming division. This change concludes with Season 10 and the Nighthaven update being the final content additions for the game on both PC and consoles.
Current Game Maintenance
Despite halting new content, Amazon will maintain game servers until at least 2026. In this period, the company plans to execute bug fixes and merge servers while hosting world bosses, bonus weeks, and some seasonal events. New World: Aeternum will still be available for purchase, with in-game currency transactions remaining active.
Community Engagement
Amazon has made the Nighthaven update and Rise of the Angry Earth expansion available for free for PC users to thank the community. Although the game will not see new content post-Nighthaven, Amazon promises at least a six-month warning before any significant service changes occur.
