A user on platform X, Amethxst, uncovered symbols for "Cross-Buy" and "PS5/PC" in the PlayStation Store interface. These symbols, first seen in June, have not yet been confirmed by Sony. Additionally, a French site detected 'crossbuy-tag' within PlayStation Store CSS files.
Strategic Alignment
Cross-Buy fits with Sony’s strategic push towards PC gaming, highlighted by first-party PC releases and the joint launch of Helldivers 2 on both PS5 and PC. Former PlayStation Studios head Shuhei Yoshida believes that PC game releases can cultivate franchise fans who may eventually transition to PlayStation hardware.
