Bethesda has announced that the Fallout 76 expansion, Burning Springs, will launch on 2025-12-02. The update is set in Ohio and coincides with the release of Season 23: Blood and Rust.
Expansion Highlights
Burning Springs is described as the largest update for Fallout 76 by Creative Director Jon Rush and Lead Producer Bill LaCost. The content ties in with the second season of the Fallout series on Amazon Prime. Walton Goggins lends his voice to The Ghoul character, who will offer significant bounties in the new region.
The expansion introduces players to locations such as Highway Town, constructed on a damaged road stretch, and adventures involving the Rust King. Players can choose to build their reputation by undergoing trials or plot against the Rust King.
New Challenges and Rewards
Burning Springs offers new challenges ranging from Grunt Hunts to elaborate Head Hunts, which are server-wide events requiring teams. Additional foes like legendary Oguas and Deathclaw Matriarchs, along with new fish and local legends, provide fresh encounters.
Season 23, Blood and Rust, introduces rewards that enhance gear, Power Armor, and Camps. Players on Steam and the Xbox Store benefit from an initial 24-hour discount of 80%, reducing the price to $7.99 / £6.99.
