The latest update for Cities: Skylines 2 enhances the game with bicycles, electric scooters, and the corresponding infrastructure, facilitating an improved urban landscape for cycling enthusiasts. New dedicated bicycle paths and lanes cater to the growing demand for safe cycling environments.
Infrastructure and Transport Expansions
In addition to cycling infrastructure, the update delivers various transport enhancements. Players can now access a new train depot and an expandable railway terminus that includes a bus station and tram stop. Furthermore, a cargo transfer station and three tram stations have been introduced. The update diversifies energy supply with two new wind turbine types and also features a small cemetery, expanding the game’s infrastructure elements.
Recreational Enhancements and Business Areas
Besides transport upgrades, the update includes amenities for recreation such as a bike-themed civic park and a campfire area. Additionally, multiple business plazas enhance city aesthetics and functionality. Colossal Order plans to integrate Asset Mods, potentially increasing customization options for players. Early next year, development responsibilities for Skylines 2 are expected to transition to Iceflake Studios. This shift marks a strategic move by Paradox Interactive following the sequel's challenging launch.
