Classy Games has announced the expansion of its popular mobile game, Orbital, to the PC platform on Steam, set to launch in Q2 2026. This move comes after Orbital achieved over 200,000 downloads on Android and accumulated 180,000 hours of playtime.
Enhanced Experience on PC
Initially developed for fast-paced, short play sessions on mobile, Orbital has been redesigned for PC with a focus on deeper strategic gameplay. According to Jamie McClenaghan, CEO of Classy Games, the decision to expand was driven by strong mobile player engagement and a desire to enhance the gaming experience further.
- Nine new planets with unique technologies
- Dynamic hazards like neutron stars and wormholes
- Features designed for strategic depth and variety
These enhancements are intended to attract players seeking more complex survival challenges and offer replayable experiences.
Strategic Market Positioning
Orbital positions itself strongly within the thriving global indie game market, particularly in the survival and arcade genres. The game was recently showcased to His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Bandar Al Saud in Riyadh, highlighting its appeal.
In preparation for the Q2 launch, Classy Games is conducting public playtests and planning monthly in-game competitions to engage the community and reward top players.
Support and Resources
This PC launch aligns with Classy Games' participation in Exel by Merak, a notable $81 million accelerator and funding initiative from Merak Capital aimed at supporting gaming startups in the region. This backing provides significant momentum for Orbital's expansion strategy.
