Phone Link Enhances Android-Windows 11 Integration

11 Nov 2025

Microsoft's Phone Link now enables Android users to sync their devices with Windows 11, allowing seamless communication and media sharing. This integration lets users manage calls, text messages, and photos directly from their PCs.

Setup and Installation

To use Phone Link, Windows 11 users should first ensure the app is installed, which is common in recent versions. The initial step involves pairing the Android device with Windows using a QR code. Users need to scan the code to connect and install the Link to Windows app from the Google Play Store.

Permissions for accessing contacts, phone calls, and SMS messages are necessary for full functionality. Users can then choose to launch Phone Link automatically at Windows sign-in.

Functionality Details

Once configured, Phone Link allows users to handle text messages on their PCs. To read or send messages, users can navigate to the Messages section and refresh if needed. The app supports creating new texts and includes features like emoji and image insertion.

Phone Link also facilitates calls. Users can manage recent calls, initiate new calls, and handle incoming calls from their PC. Ensuring Bluetooth is enabled is a prerequisite for complete functionality.

Additional Features

The Photos section allows users to view and manage photos stored on their Android device directly on their PC. It offers options to copy, save, or share images. Notifications from the phone can be routed to the PC once the necessary permissions are granted.

Users can adjust settings to enhance device functionality, including enabling the sync of clipboard contents between devices. This makes Phone Link a robust tool for bridging the gap between Android phones and Windows 11 PCs.
