The Pidgin messaging app has removed the ScreenShareOTR plugin from its third-party list due to misuse reports involving keyloggers and malware. The plugin, added on July 6, 2024, was flagged as malicious in August. Pidgin now requires plugins to have an OSI Approved Open Source License for added security.
