Scribus is a powerful, free, and open-source publishing tool originally developed for Linux, now available for Windows and Mac. Ideal for professional projects, it adheres to international digital printing standards and operates under a GPL license. Scribus offers a comprehensive suite of tools for creating layouts and digital publications, rivaling paid programs like Freehand and QuarkXpress. It supports CMYK colors, PDF and EPS file import/export, color separations, ICC color management, vector drawing tools, and OpenType fonts. With numerous built-in templates, Scribus is accessible even to beginners despite its steep learning curve. Its sleek, simple interface is available in multiple languages, making it a versatile choice for users worldwide.

I think Scribus is decent. I like the variety of design tools available, but sometimes it can be a bit overwhelming. It does a good job, but a cleaner interface could enhance the user experience.
