Microsoft is set to enhance its Notepad application by introducing image support, a feature currently in early testing with Windows Insiders.
New Features in Notepad
Following the discontinuation of WordPad, Microsoft has been progressively upgrading Notepad to fill the gap. The latest update includes the addition of image support, which will be accessible through a new button in Notepad's toolbar. This feature is part of Notepad's expanding rich formatting capabilities.
Testing and Availability
Currently, the image support feature is available only to Windows Insiders as part of early testing. Users will have the option to disable this feature in the settings if they prefer a more traditional Notepad experience. While a specific release date for all users has not been confirmed, it is anticipated that the feature may become widely available by spring 2025.
