Windows 11 offers several hidden features within its system apps and settings that can significantly enhance productivity. These tools, though lesser-known, provide users with new ways to streamline their daily operations.
Photo Editing and More
The Photos app in Windows 11 now includes advanced editing features. Users can remove unwanted objects or backgrounds by using the Erase or Background tools. Adjust the brush size, apply the tool, and let AI handle the rest for a clean, edited photo.
Calculator Versatility
The Calculator app provides multiple modes: Standard, Scientific, Graphing, Programmer, and Date calculations. Users can easily switch modes via the hamburger menu. In Standard mode, the always-on-top icon keeps the calculator on screen as a handy tool.
Efficient Text Extraction
The Snipping Tool allows users to copy text from screenshots by pressing Win+Shift+S, selecting the area, and using the built-in OCR. Highlight text in the editor and use the Text actions icon for copying options.
Time Zone Management
Adding additional time zones is now more accessible in Windows 11. In Settings > Time & language > Date & time, users can configure up to two additional clocks. These will appear in the Notification Center and upon hovering over the taskbar time.
Enhanced Notepad Formatting
Notepad receives a boost with new formatting capabilities. Users can activate Text Formatting under Settings to use different text sizes, lists, bolding, and italics. Additionally, notes can be saved in Markdown (.md) format for better documentation organization.
