Google Photos v7.66 for Android is set to introduce features previously exclusive to iOS, including Manual Photo Stacks and a revamped user interface.
New Features for Android Users
The latest update to Google Photos on Android, version 7.66, will bring Manual Photo Stacks, a feature that allows users to manually group multiple photos. This feature has been available on iOS and is now making its way to Android, enhancing user control over photo organization.
UI Enhancements
In addition to Manual Photo Stacks, the update includes a more immersive user interface. The new design features a floating navigation bar and a gradient, edge-to-edge status bar, aiming to provide a more seamless visual experience.
Expanded Expressive UI
Google is also expanding its Expressive UI redesign within the Backup section of the app. This includes updates to the folder selection menu, offering a more visually appealing and user-friendly interface.
These changes were discovered in an APK teardown, and while they indicate potential updates, there is no guarantee they will be included in the public release.
