Experience the chilling depths of horror with "The Consuming Shadow," a roguelike adventure game that masterfully blends puzzle and survival elements. Inspired by classics like FTL: Faster Than Light and Eternal Darkness, this game thrusts you into a nightmarish version of England, slowly being devoured by an all-encompassing darkness. As a regular person, you have just 72 hours to fend off terrifying creatures emerging from Stonehenge and prevent the arrival of a dark god. Navigate through England by car, making strategic stops in cities to gather supplies, weapons, and essential gadgets. Each city presents unique challenges—some offer resources, while others are infested with evil creatures that you must confront in real-time, two-dimensional combat. Arm yourself with a pistol or seek out more powerful weapons to survive the onslaught. Created by the acclaimed developer Ben Croshaw, "The Consuming Shadow" is a testament to his talent, delivering a gripping and immersive horror experience. Don't miss this masterpiece of the genre.
I think The Consuming Shadow has promise, but I’m not sure about some elements. The graphics are great, but it didn’t always keep my interest. Might play more if updates improve some areas.
