In 'The Outer Worlds 2', players face a critical choice: where to redirect a crashing Vox Relay after defeating Brigadier Montelli. The decision affects Fairfield and Westport, impacting quests, loot, and companions.
Options and Consequences
If players take no action, the relay crashes into Fairfield, resulting in extensive damage. Fairfield will be destroyed, quests and loot, including Milverstreet's and Kaur's, become inaccessible. In addition, the character Inez leaves the player's party with a -10 reputation hit with Auntie's Choice.
Redirecting the relay to Westport makes its main town and associated quests unavailable, but other areas, such as Zeb's house and the High-Security Lockbox, remain accessible. Overall, Westport offers a smaller impact compared to Fairfield.
Optimal Outcome: Space Route
With Hack Level 4 and a Bypass Shunt, players can send the Vox Relay into space, preserving both towns and avoiding the losses entirely. However, players may need an earlier save to execute this strategy if they have already entered the boss area.
Choosing the best option prevents irreversible impacts on the game experience and helps preserve key assets and characters.
