UPX (Ultimate Packer for eXecutables) is a powerful command line tool designed to reduce the size of various executable file formats. It offers a superior compression ratio compared to the Zip format and boasts impressive decompression speeds, achieving 10 MB per second even on older hardware like the Pentium 133. UPX is highly versatile, being both portable and multi-platform, making it compatible with nearly any device or operating system. Supported formats include atari/tos, djgpp2/coff, dos/com, dos/exe, dos/sys, linux386, rtm32/pe, tmt/adam, watcom/le, and win32/pe. Optimize your executables with UPX for efficient storage and faster performance.

UPX is a mixed experience for me. It’s intuitive and easy to use but has its moments of lag. Some suggestions were great, others… not so much. I’m still on the fence about it.
