Microsoft has introduced a new feature for Copilot in Windows 11, allowing users to receive direct links to specific system settings. This enhancement is currently available to participants in the Windows Insider program.
New Functionality for Insiders
Windows 11 Insiders can now ask Copilot about specific settings, and the AI will generate a link or button that opens the appropriate Settings screen. This improvement simplifies the process compared to the previous functionality, which provided generic suggestions.
For example, asking Copilot how to "make my screen easier to read" or "brighten my screen" will direct you to the exact Settings page you need. This tailored response is part of Microsoft's ongoing efforts to make navigating Windows 11 more intuitive.
Availability and Future Plans
To access this feature, users must be part of the Windows Insider program and have the latest Windows 11 Insider build installed. The new skill is rolling out gradually, so not all Insiders will see immediate availability.
Although it may take several months for this feature to reach the general Windows 11 release, those not enrolled as Insiders can still benefit from Copilot's existing capabilities. Copilot Voice also remains an option, allowing users to speak commands and receive a step-by-step guide without the direct link functionality.
