The "Copy & Search" feature aims to streamline the search process by adding a clipboard button to the search box on the taskbar. Upon copying text, a paste gleam appears, enabling users to transfer text directly into the search field with one click. Users can then hit Enter to search the web.
This enhancement works with text copied from Word documents, webpages, and various applications, functioning independently of the upcoming Copilot experience. The search defaults to Bing, unless alternative providers are supported in a given region.
Rollout and Compatibility
The feature will transition from the Insider preview to general release in the upcoming months, making it accessible to all Windows 11 users. The integration with existing search functionalities allows for seamless usage without waiting for additional updates related to Copilot.
