Microsoft has rolled out updates for Windows 11 across its Dev, Beta, and Release Preview channels, bringing specific enhancements and fixes. These updates advance software builds and introduce new functionalities for users with different setups.
Build Updates Across Channels
The Dev channel has transitioned to the 26300 series, specifically version 25H2 build 26300.7674. Notably, it closes the option for users to switch to the Beta channel. Both the Dev and Beta updates focus on fixes, with the Beta channel receiving build 26220.7670. In the Release Preview, update KB5074105 affects versions 24H2 and 25H2, moving these to builds 26100.7701 and 26200.7701, respectively.
New Features and Improvements
Significant updates include enhancements to the Agent in Settings, notably with expanded language support. Additionally, cross-device browsing has been enhanced, allowing users of Vivo phones to continue sessions from the Vivo Browser on their PCs. Supported phone brands like HONOR, OPPO, Samsung, Vivo, and Xiaomi can now seamlessly work with Microsoft 365 files across devices.
Windows MIDI sees advancements, with better support for MIDI standards and new features such as shared MIDI ports and app-to-app communication. Narrator functionality has also been improved, allowing greater customization of spoken details.
Device and Security Enhancements
New settings improvements now introduce a Devices card that provides detailed PC specifications and usage metrics, accessible through a Microsoft account. Voice Access redesign improves user interaction with a new speech model download process and a refined set of available commands. Additionally, Windows Hello Enhanced Sign-In Security (ESS) now supports certain external fingerprint readers, maintaining robust security.
