Disable Widgets to Optimize RAM Use

Users are exploring disabling Windows Widgets to manage limited RAM resources on work laptops.

Widgets, managed through services.msc, can be disabled to potentially free up memory. However, the impact may be negligible. One user reported eight Widgets consuming only 302.5 MB of RAM total.

More Effective RAM Management

Significant benefits seen from disabling other system features. For instance, DTS Audio services were reported to use 1.7–2.0 GB of RAM at idle. Disabling such services can substantially free up resources.

Unless RAM usage approaches 100% under normal conditions, leaving Widgets enabled may not significantly impact performance.
