New Call of Duty Playlist Bit Party Transforms Favela into Bitvela

25 Jun 2024

Favela, one of the most popular maps in Call of Duty, has undergone a delightful transformation. Dubbed Bit Party, this new playlist brings a charming twist to the game, featuring adorable pixelated versions of beloved Call of Duty heroes. An image shared on the game’s page on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) highlights Soap, Ghost, Price, and Farah in a Minecraft-like revamp of the popular map Favela.

The post explains the mechanisms that’ll come into play when players begin battling in the Bit Party playlist. Players will notice their characters getting bigger heads with every kill they make during the match. Conversely, as soon as they are killed in action, they’ll spawn with a smaller head. “The bigger the head, the better the bonuses,” the post elaborates.

A Retro Warfare Event to Boost XP

Alongside Bit Party, a Retro Warfare event is also on the horizon, as mentioned in the official Call of Duty blog. This event will add a boost to players’ XP with an 8-Bit Blitz Bundle in the game. While Favela has turned into Bitvela, no details on other maps have been put forth yet, but there will be more.

Fan Reactions: A Mixed Bag

However, this transformation isn’t exactly a breath of fresh air for all fans. Too many collaborations have annoyed some players lately. Activision has been trying to load the game with a ton of content. While they aren’t running out of ideas, their focus on being fancy is making it feel like stagnant water to some. Comparisons with another popular battle royale title, Fortnite, have started to surface among fans. If this persistence continues, the pond may soon go bone dry.

Despite this, adding elements that resonate with other games has pulled praise from certain sections of the fanbase. With that said, fans should be experiencing something different with Bit Party, if not a complete breath of fresh air in the game.

Season 4 Reloaded: A Mixed Reception

The upcoming season won’t necessarily be a treat for all fans either. The trailer for Season 4 Reloaded showcased highlights where beloved characters were seen jumping extraordinarily high—something that doesn’t align with the game’s standard—and even given some Reptile-like abilities from Mortal Kombat to go invisible.
