In a significant shift within Iron Galaxy, industry stalwart Adam Boyes has announced his decision to step down from his role as co-CEO by the end of 2024. This news was shared through a heartfelt blog post on the company’s website, marking the end of an era for the studio.
Leadership Transition
Upon Boyes' departure, Chelsea Blasko will ascend to the position of CEO. Blasko, who has been with the company since 2020 as co-CEO, is poised to lead Iron Galaxy into its next chapter. Boyes, who joined the studio in 2016, brought with him a wealth of experience from his previous roles at major industry players such as PlayStation, EA, and Capcom.
In his message, Boyes expressed gratitude to those who supported him during his tenure. He specifically acknowledged Dave Lang for entrusting him with the leadership of Iron Galaxy and praised Chelsea Blasko for her invaluable lessons on cultivating a strong company culture. "Iron Galaxy is in the best possible hands with you as their sole CEO," he remarked.
The transition will not be abrupt; Boyes will continue to serve as a member of the team until the end of the year, ensuring a smooth handover of responsibilities. While he has not disclosed his future plans, he hinted at a desire to address challenges within the gaming industry, stating, "An industry that I love is suffering." He aims to explore ways to assist game developers in overcoming their most pressing obstacles, though he promised to share more details in the future.
