Unveiling New Details for Pokémon TCG Pocket
It's been a while since we heard much about the upcoming Pokémon TCG Pocket game, but thankfully that silence can now be broken! The game's official social media has unveiled new details about what you can expect from the upcoming game. This includes new types of art, how trading will work, and more.
We're missing some context on certain aspects since most of this information comes from the gameplay trailer, which you can check out below. What we do know is that common TCG conventions like booster packs will be included, as well as a variety of art ranging from "nostalgic" to three-dimensional, and full-on "immersive" cards that offer a short video when tapped.
Purists may be a little disappointed to learn that the rules have reportedly been simplified to make the game more appealing to casual fans. However, there's also the addition of the ability to digitally display your trading cards and nab a random card from booster packs that people have opened so you can possibly emulate a winning combo.
Blasting off again
It seems that what TCG Pocket is trying to do, for better or for worse, is to emulate the trading card game as closely as possible. The simplified rules may disappoint purists unless the option to play with different rulesets is included.
