Riftbreaker 2.0 Update Introduces Co-op and Campaign Expansions

31 Aug 2025

In response to massive player demand, Exor Studios has released the 2.0 update for its popular title, The Riftbreaker, marking a significant evolution in the game's lifecycle. Originally designed as a single-player experience, Riftbreaker now supports four-player cooperative gameplay, providing players the chance to enjoy both the full campaign and the survival mode with friends.

Enhanced Cooperative Play

The inclusion of cooperative play is a cornerstone of the 2.0 update, featuring a wealth of new multiplayer options. Players can now utilize a server browser for easier matchmaking and enjoy features such as in-game chat, revives, and the ability to teleport to teammates. Cooperative dynamics have been further enriched by difficulty scaling and power boosts that reward teamwork, adding a new layer of strategic depth to the gaming experience.

Expansive Campaign Additions

The main campaign undergoes a fresh expansion that rivals previous world expansions in scope. Players will discover new megastructures, which are specialized buildings demanding substantial resource investments and upkeep. This expansion enhances gathering and exploration opportunities, raises the outpost limit, and introduces the formidable omega-strain creatures to challenge even the most seasoned players.

Gameplay Overhaul and Player Surge

Alongside cooperative play and campaign enhancements, this update significantly overhauls core gameplay mechanics. Notably, weapons and loot systems have been revamped, providing players with an expanded array of viable builds and crafting options. The redesigned research tree, complete with a convenient search bar, and the addition of mass-disassembly for unwanted items streamline player progression, while performance improvements ensure smoother gameplay in sprawling bases facing hordes of enemies.

This transformative update has resonated strongly with the gaming community, leading to a notable surge in player engagement. Concurrent users spiked to a peak of nearly 19,000, reflecting the excitement surrounding the new features.

The Riftbreaker 2.0 is available now on Steam at a promotional 55% discount, priced at $13.49 or £11.24, until September 8. For those interested, a free demo provides a taste of the enhanced experience. As players delve into the expanded world of Riftbreaker, these updates promise to offer fresh adventures and greater cooperative opportunities.
