Square Enix to Release Final Fantasy XVI on PC in September 2024

19 Aug 2024

Square Enix has officially confirmed that the highly anticipated Final Fantasy XVI will make its debut on PC next month, specifically on September 17, 2024. This release will be available across popular platforms, including Steam and the Epic Games Store. In a move to engage players ahead of the launch, a demo for the PC version is currently accessible on Steam, allowing fans to experience a taste of the adventure that awaits.

The pricing structure for the PC version has been set at $59.99 for the base game, while a complete edition, which encompasses all paid downloadable content—namely Echoes of the Fallen and The Rising Tide—will be available for $79.99. This strategic launch comes at a pivotal time for Square Enix, as the company has reported a significant decline in quarterly revenues, reaching their lowest levels in years. The introduction of FFXVI on PC is expected to provide a much-needed boost to the company’s earnings, particularly during the second quarter (July – September) and into the bustling holiday season of the third quarter (October – December).

While Square Enix has yet to unveil specific features unique to the PC version of FFXVI, the Steam listing has confirmed that HDR support will be included.
