Samsung Introduces Flexible Scrolling in One UI 7 Update

09 Apr 2025

With the release of One UI 7, Samsung has introduced a long-anticipated feature that enhances the user experience by allowing a switch in the app drawer scrolling style. Previously, users were constrained to horizontally scrolling through their app list, a setup that not everyone found convenient.

In a bid to offer increased customization and user satisfaction, the new update allows vertical scrolling, a highly requested feature. To enable vertical scrolling on your device, users can start by unlocking their phone and opening the app drawer. From there, a tap on the three vertical dots located in the Search box reveals the ‘Sort’ option. By selecting this and choosing ‘Alphabetical order,’ users can effortlessly switch their scrolling style to vertical.

One UI 7 is not merely about changing scrolling dynamics; it comes packed with a suite of impressive features. The aesthetics have received a notable upgrade with a tweaked design that enhances the overall look and feel of the user interface, offering a fresh and modernized experience.

Enhanced Customization Options in One UI

Customization has always been a benchmark for Samsung's One UI, and version 7 continues that tradition with expanded options. The ability to adjust scrolling preferences is a testament to Samsung's dedication to personalization, facilitating a more intuitive and comfortable interaction with your smartphone. Beyond scrolling, users can explore various new options that come with the update, structured to make day-to-day tasks more efficient.

New Features

  • Redesigned interface: A cleaner layout that prioritizes ease of access.
  • Efficiency-driven optimizations: Tweaks that streamline performance across different Samsung devices.
  • Additional customization elements: From themes to widgets, more control over individual device appearance and functionality.

Samsung's continuous effort to refine its operating systems with the users in mind keeps its devices at the forefront of tech innovation. One UI 7 is no exception, setting a new standard for user interface design.
