Deep Field Games has released the 1.1 update for Abiotic Factor, introducing significant changes to gameplay. The update adds Hardcore mode, allowing players to combine Apocalyptic difficulty with the complete loss of progress upon death. Additionally, Iron mode further intensifies the difficulty by restricting certain actions, such as recipe sharing, making gameplay more challenging.
New Difficulty Levels and Mechanics
Hardcore mode offers a brutal gaming experience, and players opting for Iron mode will face even more stringent restrictions. On these harder settings, enemies like the Peccary have modified behaviors, now steering towards targets rather than charging directly. Mechanical updates include the ability to toggle between throwing styles with a singular button and incremental reloading for specific weapons.
New Crafting Features and DLC
The update expands the crafting system with an exercise machine, a scoped crossbow, and a new melee weapon. Players can now also grow mushrooms and utilize a dedicated ammo workbench, which has been a community request. Additionally, the update coincides with the release of the game's first paid DLC, featuring a Grecian marble dimension that offers a new area for exploration. Only the host is required to own this DLC for multiplayer sessions.
Deep Field Games continues to enhance Abiotic Factor, following a successful 1.0 release. The developers have announced that they are working on a holiday-themed update, which will introduce a snowy dimension complete with giant snowglobes, showing the team's commitment to expanding and enriching the game experience.
