Tomas Sala has released The Falconeer: Revolution Remaster, offering substantial updates to the original 2020 game. This remaster provides a robust visual overhaul and core mechanic changes.
Visual and Gameplay Enhancements
The remaster dramatically improves lighting, effects, and animations, enhancing the aesthetic appeal of the game. Key locations and cities are redesigned and expanded. Core mechanics now include automated perching and landing, separate controls for dashing and acrobatics, and optional in-game races. Changes have also been made to enemy spawns, trading boats, and caravan raids.
New content adds to the experience: refreshed trade routes, more diverse side quests, and five extra sets of bird armor. These additions aim to provide a richer narrative and gameplay experience.
Development Context
Initially, The Falconeer faced challenges upon its simultaneous Xbox and PC release in 2020, an era marked by the COVID-19 pandemic and console launch pressures. Sala, after developing Bulwark (2024), returned to The Falconeer as a project of relaxation and revision.
The Falconeer: Revolution Remaster is immediately available. Tomas Sala is also planning a promotional event around 2023-11-10. His next project, AncientWaves, will further explore The Falconeer's universe with an open-world, ship-design theme.
