Valve has introduced Street Brawl mode to its MOBA shooter Deadlock, offering a new 4v4 single-lane experience for players.
Mode Details and Gameplay
Street Brawl was launched on 2026-01-24, presenting a best-of-five format where teams aim to destroy an enemy building. Players select loadouts from a mix of random items, replacing strategic depth with intense teamfights.
Rounds are short, focusing on action over strategy. Players can use unique items unavailable in standard matches, such as a giant piano and a shrink ray, alongside underused gear like the Restorative Locket.
Hero Balance Challenges
Though enjoyed by casual players, balance issues arise with heroes such as Bebop, McGinnis, and Seven dominating due to high-push potential. In contrast, heroes like Drifter, designed for isolated targets, struggle.
Players propose random hero selection similar to ARAM (All Random, All Mid) to reduce overpowering strategies, potentially making Street Brawl the ideal casual Deadlock mode.
