Ravenswatch has added the iconic wizard Merlin to its character roster in a new DLC released on 2026-01-19. This update introduces Merlin's unique spells, alongside improvements to magical objects and various balance changes.
Merlin's Spell Casting Abilities
Merlin, the first paid DLC character, brings a distinct combat style to Ravenswatch. Unlike typical characters with fixed abilities, Merlin uses two-button combinations to launch nine different spells. These spells are organized into three categories: nature, arcane, and sacred. For instance, the nature spells allow Merlin to summon protective stones or giant brambles, while arcane skills include channeled lightning and explosive fireballs.
His gameplay features an innovative system where his passive trait builds runes of potency during combat. These runes enhance his spells, allowing for strategic gameplay. Merlin's powerful ultimate options give players a choice between a giant distraction stone or a set of forbidden spells, adding further depth to the gameplay.
