Nutmeg Launches '90s-Inspired Soccer Deckbuilder Demo

27 Oct 2025

Nutmeg has unveiled a demo of its new soccer deckbuilding game, blending nostalgia for '90s soccer stickers with strategic gameplay for retro enthusiasts.

Retro Aesthetic and Gameplay

The demo evokes the look and feel of '90s PC games, presenting players and teams as vintage soccer stickers. Players can experience scenarios where they swap stickers to change formations and tactics during matches.

Deckbuilding Mechanics

Games unfold through deckbuilding and text-based events, simulating the dynamics of real soccer, including late goals and penalty shootouts. Tactic cards can be used to influence play, adding elements like increasing shooting chances.

Current Availability and Future Plans

The Nutmeg demo is currently available to play, though the full release date has not yet been announced. A career mode, where players can fill sticker books with club legends, promises to be a feature highlight on release.
